The Finance Committee of The Presbyterian Church in Morristown is pleased to announce that the Cobb and Betty Green Jones Scholarships will be awarded to confirmed members of the congregation accepted as full-time students at an institution of higher learning during the 2025-2026 academic year. Applicants should be active in various church programs, scholastic activities, and community service.     

Examples include: 
• Participating in our church youth programs
• Assisting with Church School and/or childcare
• Attending Koinonia work projects
• Participating in worship services
• Working on community service projects such as Food Bank, Nourish.NJ, charitable fund-raising walks, etc.
• Volunteering at hospitals or nursing homes

Completed application and recommendations must be completed by the applicant themself and submitted by April 25, 2025. The Scholarships will be awarded at a service in May.

The following documents should be attached to the application submitted to the church office or emailed to bettydarcy55@gmail.com by April 25, 2025. Items 1-3 are to be in narrative form in the applicant’s own words:

1. Description of church activities and how your involvement in the church shaped the person you have become

2. Academic accomplishments, activities, and your plans for continuing your education

3. Community activities/service

4. Copy of the school’s acceptance notification

5. Recommendation from a church staff member, officer, or non-family member who has observed your activities.

6. Recommendation from a faculty member or community service person who has observed your participation (optional).
